Plastic bags and one month on No 'poo

I went to Ruston Super1Foods store to buy some groceries the other day and they said they have started to give discount for using your own bags! The discount is five sents per bag. I usually use my own bags anyway but I was so happy that instead of looking at you weird (or even acting in an angry way) when you have your own canvas bags (this often happens to me in Wal Mart), they actually encourage you to do so. That is great.

In other than grocery stores, if I buy something little, I usually just say that I don't need a bag but I will just either use my own or put it in my purse or back bag or pocket.

Do you use your own bags in stores and what kind of experience do you have about it, good or bad?

I have been now one month on no poo and I couldn´t be happier. My hair looks and feels GREAT. My scalp is almost itch free.

Great news about Super 1. I've been bringing bags there for years now. Seemed like I was the only one who did but now that folks could get paid for it, maybe more people will jump on the bandwagon.

Wait, I've been to Super1 many times lately and I had no idea that you could get credit. Does it work when you go through the no teller lanes? Since they don't bag for you do you have to tell them if they don't notice you have you're own bags?

Jean, I thought I was the only one too so maybe there are more of us :D I really hope it will encourage people to use their own bags. Jean, would you like to write sometimes to this blog? If you do, please let me know. Your blog seems very interesting, I didn´t know you had one!

Stephanie, I think it is a new thing, I went few days ago and they said it was the second day they were doing it or something. The teller told me about it when she noticed my bags. She asked "how many bags are you going to use?" and I was completely confused until she told me about the discount. I said they should put up a sign about it. Next time you go, maybe you can ask about it.

Wow, I've used globototes for a couple years. I've added the Target bags (love them since they snap compactly) and I have no issues with bagging.

But, I prefer to bag myself, so the cashier just puts the stuff aside while I bag. I suppose if I expected them to do it, they might balk at the idea.

Jean, great blog! Where are you, I could use your help!?!?!?!?

I usually buy groceries from where I can bag myself. I have offered to bag myself in places where they bag for you but sometimes I found that they didn't really like it either. It depends so much on the person I guess. They are now getting more used to this, but I still prefer to shop where I can bag myself. Self checkout is an option too.

My husband and I use the canvas bags at our neighborhood Brookshire's and they tend to get confused or irritated with the fact that we bring them, too. I wonder if Super 1 in Monroe is participating...

Let us know if the Super1 in Monroe is participating. I asked recently from the Ruston Super1 and they thought it is all the Super1 stores but they weren't sure. In the Ruston store I have noticed that not everyone working there knows about it! You have to mention it yourself to make sure.
